Founder and co-owner of Easternmpire. Originally from London, England. Was a DJ and Promoter in the late 80s and early 90s before moving to the states in 1993. Being new and unfamiliar with how things work in the states, he set aside his love of music and found a job in order to support himself. In the late 90s it became apparent to Raj that a lot of folks were traveling long distances to party and that Sacramento couldn't offer much of a party scene for the Southeast Asian Community. It took a few years to get things in order but finally EasternMpire was born. After a couple of years running EasternMpire by himself, Raj picked up a business partner in 2008.
Prior to joining Raj and EasternMpire in 2008, Shawn aka DJ Romeo had been in the DJ/Music/Entertainment business since 1998. He ran his company (The Desi Intervention, equipmusic.com and Explicit Entertainment) for 8+ years before selling, thinking to move on to other things. DJ Romeo was a law unto himselt back in the days. All club owners knew who he was on site and there were many times he wasn't allowed in (hmmm...wonder why??) Now the two are working side by side to bring the people of Sacramento the best parties and events Sacramento has yet to see.
EASTERNMPIRE PROMOTIONS is an Event Management Company based in Sacramento, CA with the objective of hosting fun parties and events for those who have appreciation for Hip Hop, Top 40s, Mash Up, Trance, House, Bollywood, Bhangra and any other club music out there.
Every year since the birth of EasternMpire, their reputation has grown by leaps and bounds. They are known to bring crowds to clubs/events that they are involved in. They are honest, hardworking men and they make sure that their guests are taken care of for the night before they relax themselves and have a good time. The goal is simple, to bring the best DJs, the best Artists and the best parties to the people here in Sacramento. The parties have grown
dramatically since 2007. EasternMpire will always be faithful to Bollywood sounds, however, bringing the ultimate pleasure of music, dance and an unforgettable night out for all cultures have become the realized goal of EasternMpire.
